Base Metals are overdue for a nice rally

Jim Rogers : I would suspect you are going to see base metals doing better because you have these elections and government spending and printing a lot of money. I am not selling any of my metals. I am not selling any of my commodities and certainly not my base metals. They were probably among the worst performers in 2011. They are overdue for a nice rally. - in ET Now

Base Metals have a huge wonderful future

Jim Rogers : I own mainly precious metals and agriculture. I own all commodities, including base metals. So certainly base metals have a huge wonderful future. People have not been opening many metal mines in the past 25 or 30 years. There has only been one lead mine for instance opened in the past 30 years. So base metals have a terrific future. - in ET Now

Jim Rogers outlook for base metals

Jim Rogers : That is a big big sell off, 30% in anything in that shorter period of time. So it is a shock, but I would expect most things to continue to correct and react because the world has got serious problems facing in the future. Base metals will be affected by reduced demand.Other commodities will continue to do well, but base metals certainly would be affected by reduction in demand and you know what is happening in Europe, you know what is happening in America. So be careful. I am not selling any of my commodities. I am not selling my base metals, but I am not jumping in to buy either. - in ET NOW

Jim Rogers outlook for Base Metals

Jim Rogers : As far as base metals are concerned, they have already corrected and they will be probably rallying soon. In the short term, I would expect a rally in the commodity market. I am not buying that is what I would expect. - in Economic Times
